Board of Directors

The Board of Directors for the Jack J. Isgur Foundation is entirely comprised of educators.

The Officers are:

Barbara Schrader
Barbara Schrader has a BA in Music Education from Stephens College and a Master
of Music in Violin Performance and Pedagogy from the University of Memphis.
She spent 30 years teaching music in Missouri public schools, including 26
years in the North Kansas City School District. She became a board member of
the Isgur Foundation in 2005. She believes that all students deserve a quality
education in the arts.

Betty Maloney
Betty Maloney has been a board member of the Isgur foundation from the
beginning. She holds a Masters in Education and has been a teacher
for over 30 years. She cherishes the differences in every child and
works everyday to help students discover their gifts. She understands the necessity for the humanities to be a vital element in education.

Myra Tuggle
Myra Tuggle has been on the board of directors of the Isgur Foundation for ten years. Myra holds a bachelor's degree in elementary education 1-8 and a master's degree in elementary school counseling. She taught in the classroom in the upper grades for ten years and
both presently and for the past twelve years has been an elementary K-6 counselor. She serves as secretary for the Foundation. Myra is passionate about the importance of the arts and humanities as being both a fundamental and necessary part of a school's curriculum.

Kay Grossman
Kay Grossman has been on the board of directors since the beginning of the
Foundation. She is a learning specialist and personal development coach with an
MA in Communicative Disorders. Kay holds a life-long interest in the literary,
music, and dance arts/humanities as a reader, dabbler, and enthralled audience
member. She strongly believes that a quality arts and humanities education
benefits all children and the communities they live in.

Nancy Jensen
Nancy Jensen graduated from Iowa State University with
a degree in Elementary Education and Special Education. She earned her
master’s degree from University of Kansas in Special Education. She has taught
special education in the Shawnee Mission School District for 27 years. She and
her husband, Charley, have two sons.

Rebecca Sandhaus
Rebecca Sandhaus has been on the Isgur Foundation board since 2008 and is
honored to be a part of Jack Isgur’s vision. She has worked in education much
of her life first as an elementary music teacher and currently as a school
social worker at Shawnee Mission North High School. Having graduated from a
rural school district, she appreciates the education she received in the
humanities in her small town. She holds a Bachelor of Music Education and
Master of Social Welfare from the University of Kansas.

Charles Jensen
Charles Jensen has been a nonvoting member of the board of directors since the Foundation began. He is not a teacher, rather a lawyer practicing law in Kansas City since 1983. He handles many of the administrative tasks for the Foundation.

Scott Maple
Scott Maple is a proud two-time recipient of the Jack J. Isgur Scholarship. He currently teaches elementary music in Warrensburg, Missouri, where he also coaches tennis. Scott has a Bachelors degree in Music Education from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and a Master degree in Composition/Music Theory from the University of Central Missouri. He is so excited to be part of such a fantastic and meaningful foundation.
